Editor's Note
Welcome! I’m glad to have you here

🗓️ The Search

This week I did cold messaging, mass applying, coffee chats and nothing has happen

  • What was tried: Back to the basic, I gone back to the usual routine of Cold outreach, applications, a few coffee chats

  • what happened: nothing has happen, no rejection or anything to speak of

  • lessons learned: not every week is gonna be exceptional or note worthy and that’s okay. in the end I was able to work on the things I neglected and shifted my priority like my fitness and health. so for times like these, its always good to invest in yourself. When the job search feels stagnant, that energy has to go somewhere productive.

The Craft

Be high agency

(And why touching grass matters)

A few weeks ago I got an invite to a local event. Honestly, I almost didn't go. It wasn't directly related to PM, I didn't know anyone going, and it's easy to talk yourself out of things when you're tired from a week of rejections and silence

but I decided to go anyway. Before the event I stopped at a café. There was an older gentleman sitting nearby and we just started talking, amazing to talk to despite the initial awkwardness and small talk.

Turns out he was connected to people at the event I was heading to. He made an introduction where I ended up in a meeting I never would have landed through LinkedIn or a cold email. I got introduce to a whole new industry I never seen before

It was the liquidation world, people whose sole business is to essentially be a wholesaler but on a b2b scale (Business to business)

I would have never had this experience if I just stay home. The meeting itself didn't turn into anything and in the end the gentleman offered to teach me his business if the PM path doesn't pan out. I bet he was being nice but it makes me more confident knowing opportunities are still out there

The Opportunity

This week I'm highlighting a useful job board that has actually landed me a upcoming phone screening for PM internships

It is call Wellfound

I am not paid by them but its on par with LinkedIn premium so far so I recommend checking it out for startups positions

This Week's Action

Go to an event

Get out and go somewhere! If you suggestions go to the cursor events here

https://luma.com/cursorcommunity

That's it for this week. If any of this resonated, I'd love to hear from you.

I read every email or connect with me on Linkedin - always down to chat

Bryan :)

P.S. If you know someone trying to break into PM, forward this to them. Let's figure this out together.

Till next time,

PM From Zero
